Gerry Weisfogel, MD, FACC, FAASM

Dr. Gerald Weisfogel is the founding partner of Central Jersey Cardiovascular Associates, and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and sleep medicine. He received his MD degree from the Downstate Medical Center in New York, and continued his training at the US Public Health Service. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and completed three fellowships in general cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, and advance research in cardiac catheterization. Dr. Weisfogel is also a fellow in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is the first cardiologist in the country to become board certified. He frequently lectures at major institutions and conferences throughout the country about the importance of treating sleep disorders in patients with cardiac conditions. In addition he specializes in treating congestive heart failure (CHF) and pulmonary hypertension (PAH), having helped other cardiologists establish CHF/PAH/sleep clinics in Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Dr. Weisfogel is the Medical Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Programs at Merwick Care Center in Plainsboro, NJ and Aristacare Health Services in South Plainsfield, NJ. He was the founder and medical director of Diagnostic Vascular Associates, the only freestanding outpatient cardiac catherization laboratory in the Northeast, where he pioneered the use of digital catheterization and small catheters. Dr. Weisfogel is the former chief of cardiology at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ and is on staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
